Meet the team
Dave Rowe Painter & Decorator was formed by painting and decorating veteran, Dave Rowe and his partner, Kellie Taylforth, in 2005. Since then, Dave Rowe Painter & Decorator has evolved into a market-leading, one-stop shop for a wide range of residential and commercial painter and decorating services, delivered by a friendly and helpful team.
Let’s meet them.
Dave Rowe
Dave has been in the home maintenance business for over 25 years. Although a dodgy back keeps him off the tools these days, he is still the “guru” for all things painting and decorating.
Dave is a dab hand at most things he puts his hands to. He loves motorsport and horse racing.
Kellie Taylforth
Kellie brings over 25 years of administration and customer service to her role as Office Manager.
Kellie loves to entertain and, like Dave, has a keen interest in horse racing. Their interest in horse racing includes been joint owners in a number of thoroughbreds.
Shane Carr
Shane is our Project Manager. Shane’s great interpersonal skills are the by-product of a lifetime spent in the hospitality and tourism sectors, both here and abroad.
He works alongside Kellie in the day-to-day operations of the business and is your first port of call for any inquiries. You’ll find Shane busy quoting or managing each project and the team to keep jobs running smoothly.
Shane loves cooking and entertaining, music, travel and is a massive sports fan - especially cricket. He’s also a very handy person to have in a quiz team…
Simon “Mossy” Wimetu
Another veteran of the industry, Mossy has over 30 years painting and decorating experience. He is our highly respected Foreman who enjoys managing a team and mentoring the apprentices.
Mossy has an infectious personality, a huge smile and loves rugby and fishing!
Kenny Rowe
Another with a lifetime of painting experience, Kenny has been with us for 12 years. Customer satisfaction is Kenny’s #1 priority.
In his spare time, he does odd jobs for his elderly parents, maintains a superb vegetable garden, and plays pool.
David Johnston
Born and bred in the Waitomo Caves, David spent 30 odds years in Australia where he was a painter initially then a chauffeur. David returned home three years ago to build an off-grid home on his family land.
David’s hobbies include upcycling and reusing, landscaping, arts and crafts, and road-tripping.
Aaron Lawrence
Aaron joined the Dave Rowe team in 2018 and is a second-year apprentice. He is a very competent painter who is capable of managing jobs.
He enjoys online gaming, fast cars, hanging out with his mates and spending time at the beach.
Chivone Prak
A relatively new member of the team, Chivone joined us after owning and running an award-winning café for five years. Originally a fully trained accountant from Cambodia, Chivone has an eye for detail and is always willing to go the extra mile for our customers.
Chivone is a family man who enjoys taking his family to all four corners of New Zealand. He is an exceptional pool and snooker player.
Connaugh Liddell
A first-year apprentice, Connaugh is a dedicated, focused, and well-respected team member. His willingness to learn and fantastic work ethic bode well for the future.
Connaugh is an accomplished circus and performance artist who both juggles and breathes fire!
Paula Forbes
Our newest staff member, Paula is a welcome addition to the team. She is keen to learn the trade and will be starting her apprenticeship later this year.
Like most women in this industry, Paula has an unparalleled attention to detail and leaves nothing to chance.
When she is not working, Paula loves gardening and socialising with friends and family.
